Cupid brought the ASUS netbook and me together

I’ve fallen in love with a new gadget. It’s the ASUS Eee PC netbook. It’s like a miniature laptop with all the bells and whistles. And by bells and whistles I’m referring to things like built-in Wi-Fi, integrated webcam and a battery that can last up to 7 hours. Couple that with a beautiful 10-inch screen and darn-near full-sized keyboard all packaged in a portable computer that weighs just a hair over 5 pounds.

Oh, and did I mention the ASUS netbooks ship with Windows XP on them, not Windows Vista? That’s a gigantic selling point for a lot of clients I talk to. Grab ’em while you can people!

How I discovered the netbook

I owe a big thanks to Regina Miller from Geek in Pink for letting me on to these netbooks. She showed up at a recent Rainmakers event with one of these babies in Sakura Pink and it was immediately the talk of the town, especially with women. Of course, I would probably pass on the Sakura Pink and go with the Fine Ebony but to each his own.

I’ve saved the best part for last. Right now, the ASUS netbooks are selling for as low as $349.99 on Amazon.com. I swear to you that is not a typo.
