Droid Turbo 2: Never shatter your smartphone’s display again

Droid Turbo 2

It pains me every time I see it. I’m talking to someone and they pull out their $600+ smartphone and the display is shattered. When I point it out, they usually tell me something along the lines of, “I know, I’m usually really careful but this ONE time it slipped out of my hands.”

When I ask about their plans to fix it, I usually get an “I’m not going to” followed by “It costs too much to fix it.”

If you’re one of these phone dropping, screen cracking people, you might want to look into the Droid Turbo 2. It’s claim to fame is a shatterproof display. That alone ought to be reason enough for some of you to purchase it.

See for yourself. Here’s a video showing the Droid Turbo 2, along with several of its competitors, being dropped from five feet onto a concrete and sandpaper surface.

Other things to love

Just in case the shatterproof display isn’t enough to convince you, the rest of the Droid Turbo 2 is pretty nice too. Like the 5.4″ screen, the 21 megapixel rear camera and the 3760 mAh battery that can last up to two days before it needs recharging.

Speaking of charing, the Droid Turbo 2 can turbo charge up to 13 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.

And there’s Moto Loop, an included app that helps you keep track of your family’s location or adjust your home’s smart devices (like a Nest thermostat) based on who’s there or who’s not there.

If I’m being picky

If I had to be picky about one thing on the Droid Turbo 2, it would be lack of a fingerprint sensor. I’ve really come to rely on the security of my fingerprint sensor on my Samsung Galaxy S6 and I would definitely miss this feature if I switched to the Droid Turbo 2.

But then again, I said the Droid Turbo 2 is all about the shatterproof display, right?
