The limit of a free account is 15 GB. This would also include your email attachments as well as pictures stored in your Google Photos. For paid accounts, Google Drive can store up to 30 TB at $299.99 per month. This is ideal for those who keep large amounts of data that require accessibility on any device.

The minimum upgrade plan is $1.99 per month for 100 GB of storage. You can choose to pay $19.99 annually and enjoy a 16% discount. One TB costs $9.99 per month or a discounted annual fee of $99.99. What Happens When the Storage Upgrade Expires?

Upgrade purchases usually renew automatically after the initial period expires. If the auto-charge fails a 7-day grace period is given to update the payment plan. Failure to do so can lead to cancellation or expiration of the upgrade.

Once the upgrade expires the storage limit will be set back to 15 GB. Users can still access their files but they won’t be able to add more. This means emails with attachments will be sent back to the sender since the storage for Google Mail is counted in Drive. Users can still create new documents via Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides since these don’t take up storage space.
