How long do you keep your smartphone? [POLL]

I admit it. I’m a smartphone junkie. Which means I don’t hold on to my current smartphone for very long. Since giving up the iPhone many years ago, I’ve cycled through an HTC Thunderbolt, a Droid RAZR MAXX, a Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5.

Mind you, I didn’t give up any of these phones because they no longer worked or did what I wanted them to do. I gave them up because something newer and shinier came along. And when it comes to smartphones, I definitely have shiny object syndrome.

But I want to know how often you keep your smartphone. Is it 2 years because that’s the standard length of most cellular contracts? Or do you hold on to it longer to get as much value of your investment as you can? Or do you forego contracts and cycle through smartphones as fast as you can (like me)?
