PDF Converter Elite 5 now extracts, merges, batch converts and more

PDF Converter Elite 5

I wrote about the cool “reverse PDF” features of the PDF Converter Elite software a while back. If you need a quick refresher, use this link: Reverse PDFs back to Word, Publisher, HTML and more with PDF Converter Elite

Since that review, a new PDF Converter Elite (version 5) has been released and it has some pretty cool new features of its own. Like being able to convert scanned documents into PDF and extracting text from an image.

Extract and merge

You can also “pull out” certain pages of a PDF. So for example, if you have a 200 page PDF with 12 separate chapters but you really only care about the 15 pages in Chapter 8, you can use PDF Converter Elite 5 to extract just Chapter 8 and save it as a separate PDF.

Conversely, you can take multiple PDFs and merge them into one. This could be useful if you receive a weekly or monthly PDF newsletter and want to convert them all into one PDF to say, add to your Kindle or iPad.

Batch convert

Finally, as I mentioned in the previous review, PDF Converter Elite also does “regular” conversions by taking things like Word documents and converting them to PDF format. Now, you can already do this right from within word but where PDF Converter Elite shines is by allowing you to batch convert several (heck, hundreds) of documents at once. So no need to open up each Word document and save it as a PDF by hand. Just select all of the Word documents and let PDF Elite Converter 5 do the heavy lifting for you.

Try before you buy

If you want to try before you buy, PDF Converter Elite 5 has a free 7-day trial available on their website. If you decide to purchase a full license, the single license cost is $99.95.
