Radmo: There is still a use for that CD player in your car

Radmo

My car has a CD player in it but I never use it. When I want to listen to the radio, I listen to Sirius/XM. When I want to listen to my own music (or audiobooks via Audible), I stream it from my smartphone to the car stereo via Bluetooth.

So is the CD player completely useless? Not if Or Reznik can help it. Or is the idea man behind the Radmo, which Or describes as the perfect mobile phone mount for your car.

That’s right, the Radmo uses your CD player in your car as a mount for your smartphone (or two smartphones or a tablet depending on which model you get). You can read more about it (and even order one but you better hurry) on the project’s Indiegogo page.

Or, take the shortcut and watch this video:

Better than the alternatives?

Without the Radmo, most people mount their smartphone to the inside of their windshield using some sort of suction cup device. Until I read up on the Radmo, I had no idea this was illegal or restricted in so many states. Most of them, in fact.

Personally, I love my iOttie but am curious enough to give the Radmo a shot. It seems like it would be a little more accessible to my fingers from the driver’s seat although, admittedly, this isn’t necessarily a good thing.

Oh, and if you’re wondering, yes, you can still use your CD player in conjunction with the Radmo.
