This Thanksgiving, put your $%!$# phone away!

Pass The Salt

I can’t stand it when people use their phones at the dinner table. It’s rude and it’s disrespectful to everyone around you. I don’t like it when my friends do it and I don’t like it when my kids do it (they get one warning before their phone is taken away).

So this Thanksgiving, do me a favor. When you are sitting around the dinner table enjoying a beautiful meal that most likely took someone hours and hours to prepare, don’t pull out your phone because you are bored or because you just received a new notification. Don’t take a picture of your turkey. Don’t take a picture of everyone eating the turkey. Trust me, there will be plenty of time for pictures before or after dinner.

Better yet, don’t even sit down at the table with your phone anywhere on or near you. Instead, try something that takes you completely out of your comfort zone. It’s called conversation. You’ll thank me later.

By the way, if you’re at my Thanksgiving dinner table and you pull your phone out, I might just do what the dad in this video did. Consider yourself warned.
