Trillian allows me and Mr. Noobie to co-exist

I love instant messaging. There are so many times when it is so much easier to just instant message someone instead of calling or even emailing the person. The problem is I have too many instant messaging accounts. I have Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and Google Talk just for starters. And friends on each to match.

To make things even more interesting, I have both a Noobie account and a personal account on Microsoft’s Windows Live Messenger, which makes things real interesting since you can’t run two copies of Messenger at once. Nor can you maintain two identities within one instance of the software.

TrillianI decided to put an end to all of my instant messaging madness today by installing a product called Trillian, created by Cerulean Studios. Trillian allows me to run one instant messaging program to chat with all of my friends on Messenger, Yahoo and Google Talk (and plenty of others), all from within the same program.

Better yet, Trillian allows me to maintain my alter ego so I can appear online as both myself and Mr. Noobie, my Noobie online persona, at the same time. I should note, however, that multiple identities are only available in the Pro, or paid, version of Trillian. All of the other features can be found in the basic, or free, version
I plan on putting Trillian through the ringer for the next week or so. Look for an update then on my results.
