Type Studio add text, headline, image

Estimated reading time: 6 minutes

Whether you’re an amateur or professional vlogger, YouTuber, or videographer, finding the right video editing app or software is a must. With the plethora of video editors in the market, which one should you choose? Allow us to introduce to you, Type Studio.

What is Type Studio?

Type Studio may seem like any other video editing app. As you log in on their website, you’re greeted with a sign-in option. You can choose to sign up for free or you can avail of the pay versions for extra features to further your video editing experience.

One advantage of Type Studio is you don’t need to download software of that sort like any other video editor app. This is because Type Studio runs purely online. You have access to the dashboard where your videos are housed or saved so you can get back to it anytime. This will allow you to re-edit or re-export multiple times anytime, anywhere.

Edit Your Video By Editing Your Text

Yes, you read that right! On the editing screen, the left side transcribes your video where you can edit parts and pieces according to the text. While the right-hand side is the preview video. When you jump on the transcribed portion the video follows through where you stopped.

Type Studio transcribe video

The way to edit the video is through removing or adding transcribed portions on the left side. If you don’t like what you said, you can either highlight a group of words that you don’t like and simply press the delete button.

If there are pauses in the video you want to remove, these are represented by dots in between the words. Just delete them and you’re good to go.

In the event you thought there is a portion of the video you didn’t want to be removed, you can click the dotted lines of that area where you deleted it and click the undo button. Then everything will go back to the way it was.

Wait! There’s More!

When you‘re done with your video, you can choose to export that text with the “Export Text” on the upper right side of the interface. This is good for people who just want to take the transcription of their video or an SRT file which is the actual subtitle of the video.

When you think you’re satisfied with the result of your video, you can click the actual “Export” button. Then, the final video will then be presented on the sharing page.

You can then choose to watch your video on the preview. As you play the video the words at the bottom will follow along on a word-per-word basis. Just as it is highlighted in the transcript on the bottom.

If you want these features to be available for other people who will be viewing your video, just slide the Private to Public button on the upper right side.

Adding and Styling Text

Now, we already know that a transcription appears as soon as you upload a video. If you want to add text to your video, just click on the word where you want the text to show. A small text box will pop up on the video. Double-click on that and choose what text you want to write. You can even choose the style of your text.

When you’re done, a bar will appear on the transcription side. If you want the text to last longer just click, hold, and drag up to where you want that text to appear.

Plus, you can even style the type of text you prefer to create a more flashy way of presenting your video to your viewers.

If you don’t want to do any downloading (or uploading for that matter), you can click the “Copy Link” button and send it to anyone you want. When that person clicks the link, they will be led back to the sharing page and will watch it on that specific page. No uploading on YouTube or other programs.

If you want it done the traditional way for uploading on YouTube and other social media platforms, you can click the download button.

By the way, all these plans include the auto-subtitle feature. All of which are made available on your mobile phone. Now you can actually start editing even when you’re on the go.
