UE ROLL wireless speaker: Colorful, fun and waterproof

The UE ROLL is the first wireless Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever tested that actually feels fun when you use it. Its somewhat spherical shape and giant (and I mean giant) volume control buttons along with an unusual variety of colors (sugarplum, spiracha, volcano, atmosphere, pinata and reef) all scream “take me with you!” on your next outdoor adventure.

Speaking of outdoors, the UE ROLL is IPX7-rated waterproof so it doesn’t mind getting a little wet. It also has a 65-foot wireless range and a 9-hour battery which should handle any day at the beach or the park.

And in case your outdoor excursions get a little crazy, the UE ROLL comes equipped with a marine-grade bungy cord that you can use to strap it to your gear. Want some tunes while you’re zip-lining? No problem.

Double up with two UE ROLLs

Here’s one I’ve never seen before. If you are lucky enough to own two UE ROLL speakers (or you and your friend both show up at the same party with one), you can double up the speakers as if they are one speaker to get double the sound.

Finally, the UR ROLL is designed to be future-proof through its ability to receive wireless updates from the UE ROLL app [iOS | Android]. This reminds me a lot of the Amazon Echo. You buy a device with 5 cool features but in a few months it magically has 10 cool features.
