LIFEGUARD MINI 1 wireless charger is small enough to charge your phone in your pocket

I already own a handful of wireless charging devices but most of them are pretty bulky. Bulky enough that I have to store them in something I carry, like my gear bag. And when I use them to charge my phone, I have to set them on a table or next to me on the couch.

The LIFEGUARD MINI 1, on the other hand, is small enough to fit in your pocket. In fact, you can fit both the LIFEGUARD MINI 1 and your phone in your pocket at the same time so you can be charging your device without carrying anything around in your hands.

Tradeoffs

Of course, the smaller size has its tradeoffs. For starters, you’re not going to get multiple charges on your phone without having to recharge the LIFEGUARD MINI 1 itself. But I suspect most people don’t buy the LIFEGUARD MINI 1 for multiple charges. They buy it for the time when they are out and about and their smartphone battery is dying. Because the LIFEGUARD MINI 1 is small enough to fit in your pocket (or your purse or handbag), it’s an easy solution to top off your phone’s battery when you need it most.

Another tradeoff is that the LIFEGUARD MINI 1 has just one 5V 1A output so if you’re looking to use the LIFEGUARD MINI 1 to charge your tablet, I’d look for something bigger that has a 5V 2.1A output. But again, the LIFEGUARD MINI 1 is about size and being compact enough to charge your phone without getting in the way.

Other benefits

To me the biggest benefit of the LIFEGUARD MINI 1 is the cost. As of this writing, the LIFEGUARD MINI 1 is available on Amazon for right around $13. There’s just not that much thinking that has to go into a product that charges your phone on the go for $13.

If you own an iPhone, there’s also a slightly higher priced version for around $22 that comes with an Apple certified lightning cable. The base version comes with the industry standard micro USB cable.

Speaking of the cable, some people complain about how short it is but that’s the whole idea. If you’re going to charge your phone in your pocket or your purse, you want it to have as short of a cord as possible.

The LIFEGUARD MINI 1 also comes with an 18-month money back guarantee and an impact resistant aluminum shell to protect against accidental damage.

Note: The LIFEGUARD MINI 1 mentioned above were provided to me at no cost by LIFEGUARD in exchange for this review. It can be purchased on Amazon.com.
