The global ransomware epidemic continues to make waves, as last week’s WannaCry attackdemonstrated: In Q1 of 2017 alone, mobile ransomware attacks increased by 253%, according to a new report from Kaspersky Lab, released Monday.

Kaspersky detected more than 479 million malicious attacks from online hackers in the first three months of 2017. That is certainly an alarming number, considering most of transactions nowadays are done through the Internet.
