New technology lets you eat now, pump it out later

I read about dozens of new technology products and services every week. Some good, some not so good. But every now and then, I get that one that just stops me in my tracks and makes me shake my ahead. And then shake it again. And then again.

The latest candidate is called the AspireAssist, which connects to a surgically-implanted tube leading directly to your stomach. It’s supposed to help obese people deal with their overeating.

The idea is this. You eat you like you normally do. Then 20 minutes later you hook the AspireAssist up to the little opening in your stomach so it can suck out the food you just ate and drain it into the toilet.

So this is where we are heading? Eat as much as you want and suck it out 20 minutes later? Am I mistaken, or did the creator of this just invent the technological equivalent of bulimia?
