All you need to do is go to their website, find the Shutterfly store link, click it, and then shop as your normally would.
If you end up spending $100 at Shutterfly a few days later you’ll have $3.00 in your account. Then every so often, Rakuten cuts a check for your total rebate amount across all stores you have shopped at and mails it to you. Easy peasy.
BONUS TIP: If you use Google Chrome as your browser, install the Rakuten Cash Back Button which automatically recognizes when you shop on a website that is eligible for a cash back bonus.
