I So Wanted Carwoo to Work, but It Didn’t

Back in November, I wrote about a new service called CarWoo [see link for CarWoo video] that basically allows you to do all of your new car price negotiating anonymously over the Internet. I remember at the time wishing I could try the service right then and there but I wasn’t in the market for a new car.

A couple of weeks ago, that changed so I dove head first into the service. I chose the $49.00 plan which guaranteed me quotes from 5 dealers in my area. Plus since CarWoo offers a 100% Happiness Guarantee, I had nothing to lose.

The process was easy. I simply described what make and model, color and options I wanted (it helps to know this ahead of time). Then I punched in my zip code and selected 5 dealers in my area to compete against one another. Then I sat back and waited.

Bring on the deals!

The first deal came in within the first 24 hours. The second deal came in… well, it never came in. Nor did a third, fourth of fifth deal. After 7 days I gave up.

I was so bummed. Mainly because I so wanted CarWoo to work so I could sing their praises to everyone who reads my blog.

Now the best I can say is that they are true to their word on their 100% Happiness Guarantee. When I requested a refund of my $49.00 they responded within a few hours letting me know my refund was on its way. No questions asked.

I’m sure CarWoo works for other people in other markets but it just didn’t work for me. Will I try it again when I go to buy my next car? Probably. I like the idea so much they deserve a second chance.
