College basketball on-screen dashboard [TILTS]

Technology I'd Like to See (TILTS)I’ve been watching a lot of college basketball lately and have seen some incredible games. And inevitably during one of the games, one team or another went on a big streak or had some player hit a ridiculous number of 3-pointers in the second half to win the game.

But I hate that I have to rely on the announcers calling the game to learn about these streaks or high shooting percentages.

No more waiting on the announcers

That’s why my Technology I’d Like To See (TILTS) is an on-screen dashboard during college basketball games chocked full of statistics.

I’m picturing a block of space that covers the entire lower portion of the screen or that goes down the left-hand side of the screen like ESPN occasionally does.

This space would be filled with all kinds of interesting statistics. And not just numbers. Throw a few colorful bar or pie charts in there as well.

Team scoring streak? Check. 3-point shot tracker? Check. Scoring drought? Check, check, check.

The sky’s the limit with this. And get some Apple designer to make it all look pretty.

Not just college basketball

Of course, this doesn’t have to be limited to college basketball. It could be used in any sport to enhance the game. I just used college basketball because it’s in its prime right now.

Do you like this idea? What else would you add to the dashboard? Leave a comment below and let me know.

Disclaimer: Technologies presented in the Technology I’d Like To See (TILTS) series are based on my original (and sometimes delirious) thoughts. I present them here to the public only because I can not afford to implement any of them myself. If you steal borrow one of my ideas and end up filthy rich because of it, please remember where you got the idea and throw a little love my way. Something like a BMW or a big fat check would do just fine.
